Pressure-washed, re-sanded, edges relaid, sunken sections lifted and rebedded. Refurbs are a fraction of the cost of a new drive and bring most older driveways back to a proper finish. We're happy to quote refurb against full replacement so you can decide.
Hot-wash or cold-wash with a turbo nozzle, taking off the weed, moss, algae and ground-in road grime. Most older driveways look 80% restored just from this step alone.
Settled or sunken sections lifted, the sub-base topped up and re-compacted, blocks relaid and re-jointed. We mark the original colour blend so the relaid section matches in.
Old jointing sand vacuumed out, fresh kiln-dried sand brushed in, or polymeric joint sand where you want a sealed finish. Helps lock the blocks and stops weed growth coming back.
Block sealer applied if you want a wet-look finish or longer protection against the Atlantic weather. Two coats, applied dry, and the drive walked over before handover.
Usually yes. Older block driveways that have just gone tired and weedy clean up beautifully with a wash, relay of any sunken sections, and fresh jointing. We'll be honest if the substructure has gone past saving and you need a new drive.
Typically 20 to 35% of the cost of a full new drive, depending on the area and what relaying is needed. We always quote both options where it's a borderline call.
Polymeric jointing sand or sealing the joints holds weeds back for several years. Standard kiln-dried sand will need topping up after a couple of seasons. Either way you'll have a significantly cleaner driveway for a long time.
Yes. Spot repairs are common where one corner has dropped under a downpipe or by a manhole. We lift the affected blocks, rebuild the sub-base and relay, blending the joints back into the original.
Yes. Failed or patched resin can sometimes be overlaid with a fresh resin layer, depending on condition. If the base has lifted we'd recommend replacement, but we always survey first and tell you honestly.
