Block paving, tarmac, gravel, granite setts and the falls planned to drainage. New driveways from a single car bay up to full sweeping in-and-out drives, dug out, sub-based and finished properly so the first winter doesn't lift them.
Old surface lifted, sub-base dug to depth, soft spots dug deeper and filled with hardcore. The sub-base is what keeps a driveway flat. Skipping it is why most cheap drives sink within a year.
Layer of MOT Type-1, whacker-plated in lifts, brought up to level with falls planned to drainage. Edge restraints concreted in before any blocks or tarmac arrive.
Surface drainage planned into the layout, with ACO channels at the threshold of any building and falls away from the house. New driveways have to comply with SUDS rules and we install accordingly.
Block-cut edges crisp, gully grates set level, kerb lines mortared straight, jointing sand brushed in and the drive whacker-plated one last time. Drive away on it the same day.
If the new driveway drains to a soakaway or permeable surface, usually not. If it discharges to the road or makes a previously-permeable area impermeable, then yes. We'll guide you through this at the quote stage.
Block paving and resin-bound are the most weather-tolerant in our experience. Tarmac is hard-wearing but can soften in summer heat near coastal tar. Gravel works well on rural drives but needs topping up. We'll talk through pros and cons honestly.
Yes. Dropped kerb applications go through Cornwall Council Highways. We can arrange the application or work alongside an approved contractor for the kerb itself.
A 60 sq m block-paved driveway is around 7 to 10 working days from strip to handover, depending on access and what's underneath. We'll give you a programme at quote and update you each evening.
Yes. All new driveways we install meet current SUDS requirements, either with a permeable surface, a soakaway, or a permeable joint system. Local building control will sign the work off accordingly.
A quick call or message with Robert is usually enough to know whether your driveways job is a good fit. No detail too small.
